St. Francis School Foundation Dinner   

The 2008 Foundation dinner will be held at Timbermist in Merrifield on September 13th.  Social hour starts at 6pm and dinner is at 7pm.  Enjoy socializing, a gourmet dinner at a fine setting, music, an update on the school , the capital campaign, and the satisfaction of donating to our future.  Please join us. The 2007 St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School Foundation Dinner took place on September 28^th at Madden’s in Brainerd, MN. 

The Foundation mission is to provide a firm financial base for the school.  Funds from this dinner, silent auction, donations, and related efforts go toward a fund reserve.  The goal is to reach $1 million in the trust.  Interest earnings support teacher salary increases, school needs, and tuition scholarships for students.

The Duluth Diocese Bishop Dennis Schnurr was present, along with many parishioners, local leaders, supporters, school staff, and regional clergy. 

Our own Father Tony Wroblewski was the remarkable keynote speaker and reminded us of the importance of Catholic education based on his own educational experiences. 

Kevin Donnay presented the extensive building improvement plans.  The St. Francis School is deep in a feasibility study to improve the building and facilities.  One million dollars was donated anonymously last spring to this exciting project and it is hoped the improvements will be completed before our 100 year celebration in 2009.

It was a great success and an enjoyable evening. Thank you to all who attended, supported, organized or contributed to the 2007 Foundation Dinner.
