A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.

The St. Francis Student Council uses Parliamentary Procedures to run meetings. To become a Student Council member, we had to be elected. We were required to get signatures from teachers, students, the principal and our parents. Each candidate had to write a reason they would like to be a Student Council member and give a speech to the entire student body at the all school prayer. The whole school voted, ballots were counted and members were announced.

The Student Council will run the school store this year. We are in the process of deciding dates, times, items to be purchased and how to keep the books. Our Treasurer will be responsible for giving financial reports to the Student Council and school body.

Our Student Council also focuses on community service and how to improve our school. We have decided to have a secret teacher buddy to help keep our teachers and staff in our prayers and know they are thought of daily. We will also continue student prayer buddies. We pair two-three students throughout the school, a younger student and an older student. In the course of the year we pray for our buddy, do special activities and get to know them better.

Our final major responsibility for the year will be to help plan Catholic Schools Week. We plan activities for the student body; dress up days; evening activities and community service projects.
